Adoption Promise FAQ

When may I apply for an Adoption Promise Grant and or Fundraising?

You may submit your application to Perpetual Change Adoption Promise program once you have completed your home study with a licensed/accredited agency but before Traveling to bring your child home.  Once your application is submitted we ask that you inform the Adoption Promise Program if you receive Travel Dates during the review process of your application.

How will I know if I am selected or denied for a Grant?

All applicants will receive confirmation either way via email.  Grants are given every 4-6 months.  You will receive confirmation during this time span.

May I re-submit an application if I am denied?

Unfortunately you may only submit one application per adoption.  If you are denied for a Grant you may consider the Adoption Promise Fundraising.

Do you give grants towards all adoptions?

The Adoption Promise program can only accept applications from families using a licensed/accredited agency.  We accept applications for Domestic and International Adoption.  At this time we cannot provide grants or fundraising for private and or Independent adoptions.

Who can apply for an Adoption Promise Grant or Fundraising?

The Adoption Promise Program is open to all U.S. Citizens that have a completed home study with a licensed accredited agency.

May I apply for a Grant and Fundraising in the Adoption Promise Program?

Absolutely!  Perpetual Change actually encourages you to do so.  We understand that the cost of adoption can be overwhelming and we want to help that burden.  On your application, you will need to select either program or both.  Once we have received and reviewed your application we will contact you via email to set you up with your account and support letters.  The application fee remains $20 regardless if applying for one program or both.

If I receive a Grant or use the Adoption Promise Fundraising how will I receive our money?

All funds will be funded via check directly to your agency.  At this point it, it will be your responsibility to ensure your agency is aware of the pending check and to properly utilize these funds.

If I am not applying for a Grant but would just like to use the Fundraising, do I still need to fill out the application, pay the fee, and provide all the materials on the application check list?

Yes.  The Perpetual Change Adoption Promise Program needs these documents to ensure proper disbursement of funds.  The application fee must be submitted whether you are applying for a grant, fundraising, or both.

How does the Adoption Promise Fundraising Program Work?

First you must submit the application in full with the fee.  Once we have reviewed your application, you will receive an email with the necessary attached documents.  Once you have received this email, you have 1 week to construct your support letters and mail them.  At the end of that week, your 3 weeks of fundraising begins.  You will be given these dates in your email.  Funds may be sent anytime during your 4 weeks of preparation and fundraising.

How long may I fundraise for?

Fundraising is valid for 3 weeks.  We give you 1 week to prepare your information and then 3 weeks to fundraise.  At the end of your fundraising, we will send you an email stating your completion and allow you to view your total funds sent to your agency.  Upon completion of fundraising, any additional funds may go towards Perpetual Change’s orphan care or assist other families with adoption expenses.  Please ensure your friends and families are very aware of the end date on your fundraising.

Who should I mail my fundraising letters to?

The Adoption Promise Program recommends sending them to no less than 100 people.  Family, Friends, colleges, spiritual community members, ect.  Many fundraising families have commented that unexpected individuals donated because they were touched to be included in the adoption journey.  Be creative and most importantly understand that many people will want to help bring a precious new life(s) to your family!

How do I know how well my fundraising is doing?

At anytime during your fundraising dates you are more than welcome to contact us via email and ask for an up to date amount.

How do donors receive a tax deductable receipt?

Perpetual Change will mail/email individual itemized receipts by the end of the calendar year to each donor.
