Run4Change was inspired by two friends, Barbara and Kelly, from Scottland. A couple years ago, they were moved by the situation at an orphanage Perpetual Change was partnered with, and decided to utilized the annual Loch Ness race to fund raise for our Orphan Care Program. We though this was a great idea and created an annual Event called Run4Change. In 2011 we are inviting you to participate with us in Run4Change.
Why a Running Event?
- 45% of Africa live on less than a dollar a day vs. less than 1% in the U.S.
- 69% of rural Ethiopians have unimproved water sources vs. 6% in the U.S.
- 5.6% of Ethiopia is considered overweight vs. 74.1% of the U.S.
- There is 1 vehicle per 100 people in Ethiopia vs. 765 vehicles per 100 people in the U.S.
- The average African women walks 4 miles everyday to collect water
Regardless of these statistics, people are struggling everyday around the world. Most of us have been blessed with the ability to comfortably provide for ourselves and our families. Why not step outside our comfort zone and challenge ourselves to improve our health, overcome personal obstacles, OR do all of these to help others in need?
How to Participate?
| Run an Event: | To participate: find an event in your area that is hosted within 2011. The length and/or type of run does not matter. The only guideline is that the race will be challenging and accomplishable for you. After you have chosen an event, register at our team website and join our RUN 4 CHANGE team. Once you are registered, your only responsibility is to raise funds for your efforts and perform your best at your event. Participants who pledge to raise over $100 will be given a free race t-shirt to advocate your efforts. |

What do the Donations Benefit?
All proceeds will go towards our orphan care projects and our adoption assistance program. Perpetual Change works with multiple orphanages that struggle to find the finances or resources to support their operations. Perpetual Change works with these organizations to support nutritional, educational, and medical necessities. As Perpetual Change is growing within Ethiopia, so is the demand. With your support and/or hard work, this is manageable. Through your partnership with Perpetual Change, we can foster the leaders of tomorrow.
